Matthew Kinealy: The Teddy Bear Lamp

Some may find this a bit creepy (me being one of those people), but regardless Matthew Kinealy's Teddy Bear Lamp is pretty cool. Of the lamp, Kinealy says:

"The black fabric covered shade supplied is a reflective gold on the inside to enhance Teddy’s golden features and his plump body enables you to park him where you please without fear of him toppling over."

Patrick Schuur: The Cassette Closet

So what do you do when you have hundreds of cassettes that are obsolete and useless? Dutch designer Patrick Schuur did the obvious... He made a closet? Yes, you read correctly. Schuur put together 918 cassettes to create one of the cooler closet spaces I have ever seen.

Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan

Director/Producer Gerald Barclay is set to show the premier of his documentary on what is, in my opinion, the greatest Hip-Hop group of all-time: The Wu-Tang Clan (can I get a Swooooop!). 'Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan' takes an in-depth look at how the group was started, how they took over the rap world, and how the death of ODB affected each member. The documentary will air on BET November 13th and will be released on DVD on November 18th.

Dmitry Maksimov: Photography Meets Illustration

Dmitry Maksimov is a Russian artist who uses illustrations on photographs to give the images completely different experiences and viewpoints. The Kid Robot'ish characters he draws on his landscape photography elevates the mood of all these pictures and gives it more of a playful feel.

Julian Wolkenstein: Styled Horses

London-based photographer Julian Wolkenstein recently came out with this series of 'pretty' horses.





Of the process, Wolkenstein says:

"One of the things we learned from the test shoot is that a horse's head is incredibly big and you just need buckets and buckets of hair extensions, double or triple what you think. The stylist scoured London for all of these hair extensions. I braided the horse's hair and used colored beads in it. Some of this was done before hand, but most was done on the actual day of the shoot."
