Los Angeles area vandals are tagging Marley & Me bus shelter banners and highway billboards with the phrase 'THE DOG DIES' - the ultimate climactic spoiler. I find it pretty hilarious =/ . (Sorry if this post ruined the movie for you)

Songs on iTunes No Longer Just 99 Cents

Apple has announced that it has reached an agreement with EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner to remove anticopying restrictions from the songs they sell on iTunes. That means users will be able to freely shift the songs they buy between their computers, iPods, phones and other digital devices. This is something I always HATED about iTunes. The bad news is that Apple will still charge 30 cents to change the format on songs previously purchased that have the restrictions.

To go along with that, Apple has allowed the labels to set their own prices for each song.

According to the New York Times:
"... a majority of songs will drop to 69 cents beginning in April, while the biggest hits and newest songs will go for $1.29, Others that are moderately popular will remain at 99 cents."

Convert Classic Vinyl Records to MP3's

Hammacher Schlemmer has come out with an LP-to-MP3 device that will help convert those classic vinyls that many people covet into modern day friendly MP3's. The device connects to a computer via USB and, in addition to providing high-speed vinyl audio conversion to MP3, the turntable plays LPs at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm speeds (adapter included), and its adjustable anti-skating control provides increased stereo balancing. All of this for a modest $129.99.

Vinyl snobs worldwide will be hating on this.

Movie Theaters to Broadcast BCS Championship Game in 3D

Fox Sports will broadcast college football's national championship on Jan. 8 in 3D to audiences at the Consumer Electronics Show and select 3D theaters in Boston, Los Angeles and New York. With the recent success of new 3D technology in movies like Bolt and Journey to the Center of the Earth, this experiment is one I am all for. It will be interesting to see if they can bring a sports bar type of atmosphere to a movie theater. Some of the theaters were granted temporary liquor licenses to be able to serve beer and wine during the game.

Slumdog Millionaire - WATCH IT

If you have yet to do so, make sure to watch one of the biggest surprises the film world has seen in some time. Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of a kid from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show (India's 'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?') and exceeds people's expectations, raising the suspicions of the game show host and law enforcement.

Here is the trailer:

annnnnd here is a video created by Addictive TV. They sampled the film for its vibrant sounds and images, and reconstructed them into this fast-paced audiovisual remix mash-up thing:

'Catch of the Day'

Surfrider Foundation teamed up with Satchi & Satchi LA to create “Catch of the Day.” , a clever guerilla campaign to bring some attention to ocean pollution and let us know just how disgusting it really is. The group brilliantly collected actual trash from beaches around the U.S., packaged it like food, and left it on display at farmer’s markets. Here are some packages:

Styrofoam Bites - Long Beach, CA

Plastic Surprise - Galveston Beach, TX

Butts-n-Bits - Venice Beach, CA

Condom Strips - Newport Beach, CA

Aerosol Valu-Pack - South Padre Beach, TX
