Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story

Tonight I watched a documentary on the life of Lee Atwater, a Republican strategist who used some of the dirtiest politics ever seen to get people like Ronald Reagan and George H. Bush (and eventually his son) elected. While learning more about the history of all these events was great, the one thing that made this film so remarkable to me was that he wasn't even truly passionate about Republican views- he just loved the thrill of competing against the odds and doing whatever it took to beat whoever he was battling. After living a life of telling lies and slandering fellow politicians, his life was cut short in 1991 when a brain tumor was found in his brain. Had he not died, we probably would not have seen Bill Clinton get elected.
